We took the kids to a fishing rodeo in April at a sportsmens club. The club stocked the pond with a ton of trout and only kids get to fish. They start fishing at 1:00 and they start with the youngest kids first. The parents are only allowed to help bait the line and cast it out. The kids have to do everything else themselves. Lydia caught a huge trout that measured 17 1/2 inches long. And Marshall's longest was 16 inches. They were both taken to the taxidermist because it is their first really big fish. It was fun to watch all the kids catching their fish. There were a lot of people there too. At one point, we just gave up and went home because you would cast your line and it would get tangled with 10 other lines. So you didn't know if you had a fish or someone's line. That was when we said that we had enough. All the trout were then cleaned (except the ones at the taxidermist) and given to pap Shoemaker because he loves trout. And it is good for him to eat fish.
